English week: The Native Americans

What do we know about the native americans?
We have been watching "El pequeño Hiawatha" El pequeño Hiawatha to refresh our previous knowledge about this topic. Then, we have done a brainstorming on the board with some ideas and things we have watched or we already knew. For example, the students have said that: the native americans weren't wearing T-shirts, they hunted with a bow and arrows, they were wearing a headband decorated with feathers, the animals were very important, the nature, etc.

Then, we have divided the class in groups and each one had to work around one aspect of the native americans (for ex. clothing, agriculture and food or art, between others). Each group had an envelop full of images, they had to think and discuss about what they suggested to them.
After that, we gave them another envelop with some information related to the pictures given before. The students had to read the different sentences and put them together with the correct picture.

During the Drawing and Painting lesson we made different crafts related with the native americans.
