Dear Families!!!

Ja hem acabat la English Week i hem passat uns dies d’allò més divertits. L’eix principal ha estat conèixer les diferents regions del Regne Unit. Cada classe ha pogut aprofundir en una d’aquest països: Scotland, England, Northern Ireland i Wales.

Hem practicat molt l’anglès a partir de diferents activitats lúdiques i educatives. A més a més hem conegut les parts més representatives de cada zona i hem pogut prendre consciència sobre altres estils de vida.  

Aquí us deixem unes fotografies on podreu comprovar tot el que hem gaudit!!! 

Scotland 3r A

Durant les últimes setmanes, d’acord amb la temàtica de la English Week, a 3erA hem treballat Escòcia: hem parlat sobre la regió que ocupa i la seva bandera, les Highlands i el “Nessie”, la seva música tradicional i les “Bagpipes”, alguns menjars típics i els clans que dominaven la zona fa uns quants centenars d'anys... I per descobrir tot això ens ho hem passat molt bé realitzant un munt d'activitats com les que podeu veure en aquest vídeo!

Dins de les diferents activitats proposades als alumnes, una de les habilitats que es potencia és les arts plàstiques. A totes les classes han pogut realitzar murals i altres elements decoratius que han ajudat a ambientar l'escola i sentir-nos més endinsats en la cultura anglesa. Esperem que us agradi!

United Kingdom

Hi families!

Com ja sabeu, aquest dies estem totalment submergits en un tema fantàstic que és la ENGLISH WEEK! Tenim anglès fins a la sopa, i mai millor dit, perquè el dinar del menjador és tot típic de United Kingdom!!!!

Aviat trobareu al bloc diferents vídeos i fotografies de les obres de teatre i altres actuacions que hem estat fent a l'escola. Us avancem però, que dimarts va actuar 1r, i van ser un èxit les tres obres de teatre i la cançó amb ball inclòs que es van realitzar! El públic va poder aprendre i gaudir molt!!!

A 1r A, van treballar England, concretament London. Vam conèixer monuments i espais emblemàtics com per exemple: the Big Ben, the London Eye, the Hyde Park, the Hamley's shop, a telephone box, etc.

A 1r B, ens va tocar Wales. Coneixeu una història molt original i divertida que es titula Alice in Wonderland? Doncs aquest conte està ambientat a Gales. Els alumnes van aprendre's una part de una de les cançons de la pel·lícula i es van disfressar de cartes!!! També, van fer una gimcana per l'escola en busca d'alguns personatges de la història. Va ser molt emocionant!

A 1r C, vam aprofundir més sobre Scotland. Molts ja coneixien algunes coses d'aquesta magnífica regió i les vam compartir amb la resta del grup. A continuació, vam llegir un conte ambientat a Escòcia, on apareix el famós Monstre del Llac Ness. I, a partir del conte vam preparar una obra de teatre amb disfresses i tot! Més abaix podreu veure algunes fotografies.

Finalment, a 1r D vam treballar Northern Ireland a partir d'un conte del qual vam extreure també una obra de teatre. Tres noies del nort d'Irlanda, van de vacances a Belfast en busca d'un "Leprechaun". Allà es troben amb uns "Shamrocks" i altres personatges, que els donaran pistes per tal de trobar a l'entremeliat Leprechaun. El trobaran?

English week: Contemporary History of the United States

During the English Week in 6th grade we have been studying the Contemporary History of the United States from the 60’s to the 90’s. As you can see in the photos, they have been doing projects about the Cold War, the Atomic Age, the Space Age and the Digital Age. 

The students have also been learning the Contemporary Music of the United States from the 60’s to the 90’s. They have discovered that popular music of the United States in the 1960s became innately tied up into causes, opposing certain ideas, influenced by the feminism, Black Power and environmentalism. The mid-1970s saw the rise of disco music, which dominated during the last half of the decade with bands like the Bee Gees, Village People, Boney M, Donna Summer,  etc. The 1980s saw the emergence of pop, dance music and new wave. Popular music in the 1990s saw the continuation of teen pop and dance-pop trends which had emerged in the 1970s and 1980s. 

In this pictures, you can see our 6^th grade students singing songs from the 60’s to the 90’s, such as Surfin’ USA (The Beach Boys) WATCH VIDEO , ABC (The Jackson 5), I wanna dance with somebody (Whitney Houston) WATCH VIDEO and Everybody (Backstreet Boys) WATCH VIDEO.

English week: The Industrial Revolution

The English week has also arrived to 5th Grade! During three weeks we have been learning relevant information about the Industrial Revolution. We understood why it happened and also why we have many inventions that we still use! Such as the telephone by Alexander Graham Bell, the light bulb by Thomas Edison or even the airplane by the Wright Brothers!

We could search information and create our own writings about the most meaningful historical facts and inventions.

Then, we had the opportunity to put in inventors’ shoes creating our new invention! Among our creations you could find a homework, time or wishes machine or even a chef robot. Have a look! Our creativity doesn’t have limits!

English Week: The Wampanoags, the Pilgrims and the Native Americans

Hola a tots. En aquestes fotografies podeu veure la representació dels alumnes de 2n que fan sobre els Wampanoag i els Pilgrims dins l'English week. Els alumnes de 2n A van representar la història dels Wampanoag, 2n B la història dels Pilgrims, 2n C una llegenda de Native Americans i 2n D la història de "Thanksgiving".
